The T-Đ-X (White-Black-Gray) Philosophy
“Architecture does not reside in static forms, but in the transitional boundaries where life truly unfolds.” - Nguyen Quoc Long
T-D-X (White - Black - Gray) forms the core reference system in MIA Design Studio's design philosophy. In the flow of contemporary architecture, the spatial zone we emphasize and utilize the most is the one that connects other spaces, often referred to as the transitional space or the Gray Zone.
Through the lens of color, if Black and White are viewed as two absolute constants representing solid and clear extremes, then the Gray Zone is the infinite spectrum in between. It is where architectural fluctuations occur, where the unique characteristics of each entity are formed and reflected. From the perspective of architectural physics, the Gray Zone is a convergence point encompassing both light and shadow, conveying a neutral, monochromatic, and pure spirit.
Với Guided by the T-D-X philosophy, MIA positions the Gray Zone as the focal point of design. We perceive architectural practice not merely as constructing physical forms, but as creating spaces where people can pause, regulate their biological rhythms, and nurture their emotions. Right at the boundaries of the Gray Zone, unique memories are crystallized, inspiration is ignited, and profound spatial cognitive challenges are formed.
Ultimately, architectural practice is not about drawing rigid boundaries. Rather, its most enduring core value often stems from transforming these seemingly unnoticed transitional lines into sanctuaries that nurture emotions, forging the most profound and distinct connection between humans and space.
