Arch. Nguyen Hoang Manh at PAM Northern Chapter 2026: Architectures for a Planet in Transition

Amid profound shifts in climate, materials, and technology, architecture can no longer remain strictly human-centric. At MIA Design Studio, we believe that sustainable design requires a quiet harmony: expanding boundaries to honor the natural ecosystem, allowing space to be experienced through the authentic presence of materials, while listening closely to the indigenous rhythms of climate and culture.

On October 24, 2026, at the G Hotel Gurney in Penang, Malaysia, Arch. Nguyen Hoang Manh represented MIA Design Studio as a speaker at an event hosted by the Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia Northern Chapter (PAM Northern Chapter), where he shared three of MIA’s core practice philosophies:

Becoming More-than-human: Expanding design perspectives beyond purely human needs to nurture and preserve the surrounding natural ecosystem.

Becoming Embodied: Sensing space through raw materials and honest structures where architecture is touched and lived in, rather than merely observed.

Becoming Attuned: Fostering a quiet resonance and deep empathy between the built structure and elements such as natural light, ventilation, and the local cultural context.

The PAM Northern Chapter 2026 forum was not only a platform to share practical perspectives from contemporary architectural practice in Vietnam, but also a valuable opportunity for MIA to listen, reflect, and continue contributing authentic values to the global architectural discourse.
